Here’s a 1988 video about state-of-the-art language teaching at DLI: Doors of Opportunity

Things have changed a bit since then   grin

Everything now is relatively high tech.  Students are issued netbooks instead of reel-to-reel recorders and classrooms have video projectors, Internet access, digital white boards.  Pretty impressive.  And a very nice library with thousands of foreign language novels, texts, dictionaries.  And the librarian who gave us the tour was a hoot.
