Robert Hegyes, an actor whose Jewish-Puerto Rican character Juan Epstein was one of the Sweathogs on the 1970s TV sitcom “Welcome Back, Kotter,” died Thursday of a heart attack in New Jersey. He was 60.

I read that earlier. Like most of America then, I watched that show. Another bloody reminder of how old I’m getting.

I see on IMDB a “Welcome Back, Kotter” movie is “in development.”

As my father used to say, they’re just smooth running out of ideas.
