I was a zoomie at Rimbach from 73-74.  My name on the hill was Bill Mandelbaum, nicknamed Sergeant Death Master.  I hung around with Ron Bell, Mike Basileo, Steve White and others.

My new Kindle Book, “DETACHMENT ECHO,” is an espionage thriller where much of the action takes place on Mount Eckstein.

Here’s the link on Amazon: Detachment Echo

Thanks for posting this, Glenn.  Hey guys go ahead and buy it - it’s only $2.99 in the Amazon Kindle book store - if you don’t have a Kindle you can download “Kindle for PC”.  Help a brother out - and you’ll have some fun reading parts of the book, too!

If, after reading Detachment Echo, you could post a (hopefully favorable) review on Amazon, it would be a big help.  More people should know about who we were and what we did.  The guys who fought the cold war were forgotten in the headlines about Vietnam—yet what we did was much more relevant to the actual national security of the U.S.
