The B-hof going to be our base this time again, or is everyone opting for the K-hof?

Throw me a bone ... Need the info ...

We are staying t the Kollmerhof and I believe Pivo is also.  Because of the other things going on, there may be a shortage of rooms.  You need to act fast.  Sorry, I don’t have any more bones.

Thanks, John.

I just emailed the K-hof for reservations. I’ve never stayed there, but we’ve eaten and bowled there. wink

Looks nice, and it’s certainly less expensive than the B-hof.

Hmm. Just got a reply from the K-hof. They said they won’t know if they have a room available until mid-May. If none is available, they said they can make a reservation for me at a gasthaus.

Thinking I may try the B-hof after all.

ADD: OK, I just emailed the B-hof. Their online form didn’t work, but I managed to find one their old emails and pull and address from that.

The 56th championship in Fingerhakeln is exactly the time and place of our reunion.  For that reason it may be difficult to find a room in Rimbach.  The B-hoff, last time I tried to make a reservation, did not bother to answer my request with a yea or nea.  You might try the Rimbach web site to find another place.  They list hotels and gasthouses there along with contacts.  Find then under tourismus and then look for places to stay.

Well ... bugger.

I’ve got the plane reservations, so I know I’m going to Germany. The only question remaining is to what city. grin

It’s been 24 hours and I haven’t heard from the B-hof. I had a problem with them not answering emails before as well.

I’ll scope some gasthuaus names on the Rimbach site. But at my age I’m really not into feeling my way down the hall at night trying to find the bathroom. wink

Can anyone recommend a good gasthaus?

Here is the site that will give you the free rooms in Rimbach.  At the top list put in the dates you want to stay and it will list the places with free rooms available.

http://www.erholungsdreieck.de/gastgeber_rimbach/

I just checked and there are several places listed, even a 4 star place.  Good hunting

Outstanding! Thanks, John.

I just picked the top of the list that came up and looked around. Pension Wagerer. Looks a peach to me. That page said from 15.50 euro, but I’m sure it’ll be higher than that being high season and all. Still, I suspect it’ll be a danged decent price. Each room with a bath. wink

I’ll email them this afternoon or this evening.

Bill,  In 2004 I stayed at the Pension Sonnenhof (http://www.pension-sonnenhof.de)  At the link that John posted it says their price is €16.00.  In 2004 my room was €17.00.  The Pension Sonnenhof is the one directly above the Sportplatz (and Fest tent) and is run by Christina Berzl. Her husband is Maria’s son Reinhard.  I enjoyed staying there because I had roomed at the Pension Berzl when I was in there in the ASA.  The Wagerer looks like a nicer place though (Sonnenhof is a bit spartan).  You probably just want an “EH” room - a single with toilet and shower.  Wagerer had just one EH when I just checked and note that the HP - Halbpension (with breakfast) - is a €9.50 additional price.  Sonnenhof had 6 EH rooms available and the breakfast appears to be included.  Every morning I was there I was able to have Quark mit Muesli. Sonnenhof was real convenient because it was right above the Fest tent and a real short walk to the Kollmerhof.

Thanks, Bill.

I stayed there, too, for a short while when I first got to Rimbach. They’ve remodeled since then, I guess, ‘cause I had to traipse down the hall for the bathroom in those days. Looks good. I don’t need much. Won’t spend that much time in the room. Be homecoming of sorts. wink

I’ll drop them an email this evening, I guess, since I also haven’t heard anything back from Wagerer either. (Two days since I emailed the B-hof.)

BTW, I thought Frühstück meant breakfast and halbpension added either lunch or dinner.

Got my reservation request off to the Sonnenhof tonight, so we’ll see. Have to say it would be kind of neat to stay there again. I think I spent maybe six weeks there when I first arrived in Rimbach. Almost froze to death!

The closer the reunion gets, the more pumped I become. It’ll be great to see everyone again. And there will be folks there I’ve only met online, so it’ll be double great to finally meet them. Friends, fest, the little Czech waitress at the B-hof. It’ll be great! grin

I touched base with Steve Bringle, and he also hasn’t yet made reservations for a place to stay. He asked that I blaze the trail and forward him the results so he can follow, and I certainly will.

Hppe you get your reply soon.  I am looking forward to seeing you all.  Because we will be scattered throughout Rimbach, I suppose we will need some sort of meeting place to get together

Well, I haven’t heard back from Sonnenhof, either.

Think I’ll blast out several more emails tonight to various places, and the first place to actually reply to me wins.

Sheesh.

I had made up my mind that the first place to respond in a positive manner would the winner. Just happened that the Bayerischer Hof got back with me today and offered just what I needed. A quick swap of more emails had it all confirmed. So I’m set.

I’ve notified Steve Bringle, and he said he’d get off high center this weekend and get things done.

I notice a lot of folks are staying at the Kollmerhof. Wish they’d had room for me there, as well, just to make it a party. But the B-hof is a five-minute walk away.

Jim Menzie suggested I add where everyone is staying to the list of names of those attending, and he rooted out much of the information from pervious emails. Thanks, Jim!

Going to be another great reunion! Already having visions of the fest tent. wink
