We’re missing the Wurstfest in New Braunfels, Texas.

Never been to the Wurstfest in New Braunfels.  Fredericksburg’s Oktoberfest was a little disappointing, but better than nothing.

Janet and I are going to San Antonio next weekend (Nov 6-8) to see Walking with Dinosaurs at the AT&T Center.  After the show, we’re meeting with San Antonio-based friends at the Old World German Restaurant.  Great German food in a truly Bavarian atmosphere.  We try to eat there every time we go to San Antonio.

Now that looks like it would be a fun place to meet.

Yup, sure does!

The Fredericksburg’s Oktoberfest that Glenn mentioned was the site of a mini-reunion here in Texas a few years back. It was OK — and photos exist of me and Janet doing the Chicken Dance. But this Wurstfest looks to be even more fun.

Maybe we should keep it in mind for another gathering. grin

Comment today from a Wurstfest attendee:

My allergies are off the charts, but sausage and beer wait for no man.

Bill that Oktoberfest looks like a lot of fun but there is someting about drinking beer out of a paper cup and shorts and t-shirts in November that would prevent a real feeling of a Bavarian fest.  Still if I was ever down that way I sure would give it a try.

Yeah, they had paper cups in Fredericksburg that time, too, as I recall. Just not the same as a big old mug.

IIRC, they were styrofoam, which is worse yet.
