I hadn’t paid much attention to gas prices until this morning when I noticed they’d gone up to $2.39 (or higher). Of course, I didn’t need gas when it was at $2.24…
When we were out and about this weekend I saw lots of places higher than my normal source. Usually just 2-4 cents, though. I think $2.49 was the highest I saw Saturday.
Most places here had dropped to $2.51 yesterday, but I did see one station at $2.49. Janet thinks the prices got jacked up due to the rodeo being in town. I don’t think that’s the reason for the price rise, but it may have been a reason for not dropping the price as soon as they could.
One day, millions of years from now, when some alien race finally visits earth and explores its past, the final report on the human species will note that we nickeled and dimed ourselves right into extinction.
A little OT, but: There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.
Out to pick up a few things this morning and saw prices ranging from $2.59 to $2.69 (those knuckleheads at 7-11). I have a full tank of that bargain $2.49 fuel right now.
This morning it was up to $2.64, but this afternoon it was back down again to $2.59. Some stations must not have gone to the higher price, so they pulled back.
