Got about a 1/2” of snow early this morning. It’s already 22F. We might get close to 32F for a high today.

Last weekend the forecast for this weekend was for the highs to be in the 50s. By Thursday that had changed to highs in the 40s.

Forecasters blew it last night. Kept saying DFW and northward would see little, if any snow. Got 4-5 inches so far, and it’s still coming down. (Photo attached.)

Temp’s 21F, headed for a high of maybe 29F.

Up to 30F. Don’t think we’ll make 32F since it is almost 5pm. A little sun peeks out every now and then.

We made it above freezing this afternoon around 2 PM.  Currently 40 and the roofs are dripping.  Could be some icy spots overnight as the temp is supposed to dip to 21.  Another cold front to blow in Tuesday, but so far the forecasters haven’t inserted any precipitation in the forecast.  Their computer models don’t agree, so they play fantasy football and wait for the next model run.

Gotta love those computer models. LOL
Down to 27F. It’s not dropping very fast.
I’ve got about 20 bottles of water in our unheated garage. They’ve been there for a week or so and not one of them has frozen. Curious.

High today was 27 here, but they swear it’ll be 45 tomorrow. We’ll see! LOL!

Pics and movies on Facebook.

Kaipo, our garage (unheated) usually stays about 45F even during the coldest of cold snaps. Keeps the drinks and water chilled for sure, though.

We used to throw parties in Rimbach during weather like this. Now we just piss and moan and post here and on Facebook about the weather.

Age is such a bitch.

Glenns WX sounds very much like we are encountering here in Viechtach. There is however no cold front on the horizen. That is very good.
Early Feb can I really put the snow shovel away?

sigh

Latest computer models show rain/snow for Sunday morning with a high around 45.  Confidence is high enough for them to insert a 20% chance of snow is Wednesday’s forecast with a high of 35.

Awakened at 6am by the phone call of “No School Today”. It’s 30F very windy and sleeting.

They called me a bit after 5 a.m. with news the college would close today. At that time we’d just had some rain, and it was still 34F. Everything was way behind the NWS’ schedule of events. I went back to bed.

Now it’s 21F with a wind chill of 5F. They predicted 3-4 inches of snow up here, but we’ve got mostly sleet with a snow chaser. And eighth of an inch, it looks, certainly not much more. But enough to make the streets dangerous.

Radar shows this stuff about to end from the west.

Another bad forecast. Gratefully so, but bad none the less.
Maybe 1/4” of snow instead of 1” to 4” forecasted.
