Can a forum be established for historical information about the American presence on Hoher Bogen?  (or am I not noticing a forum that was established for presentation of historical info?) We had a real good discussion on the e-mail list some time ago about when the various site locations were established and it would be good to make that information available where visitors to the website can see it and add details and/or corrections.  I was thinking of using “The Fest Tent”, but the history should have it’s own forum.

In response to my own post:  I was prompted to look for a forum for historical info when I found out a few days ago that in the early 60’s, and maybe even earlier, Americans were stationed in Furth im Wald on a seasonal basis and set up a site nearby - probably on the Hohen Bogen.  They stayed in the Hotel zur Post on Stadtplatz in Furth im Wald.  Does anyone have more info on this (presumably ASA) unit?

Sure, that’s no problem.

I’d suggest, though, that once a topic has been hashed out, then that information be put together and added to the Wiki, under an appropriate entry title.

Edit: Done.  grin Enjoy!

Edit 2: Thread moved to new Historical Discussions forum.

Agreed, but while the info is being gathered and verified it will be easier to do that in a forum first.
