In the early 60’s, around 62 - 63 and possibly earlier, there was a US Army unit, probably ASA, that set up some signal equipment around Furth im Wald, presumably on the Hohen Bogen.  It was apparently a seasonal operation (summer) and the Amis were lodged directly on the Stadtplatz in Furth im Wald at the Hotel zur Post.  Does anybody have additional information?

Bill,
If you check out Phil Wards Schneeberg website there are some pictures from the early 60’s (possible 50’s) of Det K.There are also members of that site from the 50’s who may be able to shed some more light on the goings on at that time.
