The End of an Era and Return of an Artifact

The American site on "The Hill" is no more, having been razed in the fall of 2012 by the Bavarian forestry agency so the area could return to its natural state. But an artifact of the Army Security Agency's initial presence at "Ami Platz" has returned and occupies a place of honor at the Schönblick, along with a plaque explaining its importance and the history of the American Cold War presence.
